St Kilda Sunrise Greeting Card

About the Artwork

In July 2015 I had a wonderful 4 nights on St Kilda on a photography trip with Marcus MacAdam. I didn't sleep much, the moon was full and the never ending twilight wonderful. After staying up all night one night I did the climb from the village to the gap at about 4.30am to catch the sunrise over Boreray and the stacks and was treated to a wonderful magical sunrise all to myself. The only person there out on a remote island in the North Atlantic, a really mind blowing experience. As I turned round to head slowly back down to the village on Hirta and reality, people, coffee and breakfast I noticed that the sunlight was just catching the top of the hill beyond the village, the early morning light was wonderful and the moon was showing above the now pink cloud.
