Collection: Callanish Standing Stones and the low Southern moon.
Low Southern Moon at Callanish, September 2024
Captured above two of the Standing Stones of Callanish, this low southern Moon marked the beginning of the year of the Southern Lunar Standstill’s lowest monthly transits, reaching their most southerly point in March 2025. Whether seen by day or night, a glimpse of the Moon from these ancient stones always sparks a sense of wonder and connection across past, present and future. The fenceline has been digitally removed from this image, allowing the landscape to feel a little closer to how it may once have been.
