Collection: New Lunar cycle moonrise from Cnoc Fhillibir Bheag / Callanish III - 2nd view

A different angle on the First Moonrise of a New Cycle, April 2025
Captured over the Cailleach, or Sleeping Beauty, this clear April morning marked the first moonrise of a new 18.6 year lunar cycle. In the years ahead, the Moon will rise gradually further east and travel higher across the sky, leading towards the minor lunar standstill in 2034. Low lying mist added to the atmosphere, making this long awaited moment, witnessed alone, feel especially magical.
