About the Artwork

Midsummer in the Outer Hebrides it never gets properly dark. Neverending twilight means that for about 10 weeks between May and August the sun sets but still lights up the sky enough through the night so we lose sight of the stars and Aurora. Sometimes Noctilucent/Night shining clouds appear high up in the earth's atmosphere they are formed of ice crystals and reflect the sun's rays from a certain angle. https://gostargazing.co.uk/2021/05/30/see-noctilucent-clouds-in-summer-2021/ I took this image one beautiful summer night at Callanish in 2019. I entered it in the @ArtGemini Prize competition and was chosen as a finalist. It was also used in their advertising for that year. The trip to London and the Art gallery exhibition experience was amazing. Not one I've managed to repeat, yet :)

About the Product

A premium photographic paper with a satin lustre finish. Preferred by professional photographers, the finish provides a subtle pearl-like texture. Supporting deeper colour saturation than matte papers, this stock produces impressive colour depth and strikingly intense blacks.
